The Signature
Series

Four catalogue sizes. Each one is mitered on a fiber laser, welded by hand and ground flush, then stamped and numbered on the back before it leaves the shop. The room sees the eighth-inch edge and the shadow behind it, nothing else.

Prices are frame only. Two weeks to ship from the day you approve the drawing.

Outside the series:
any opening, 24 to 144 inches

Four is where the catalogue ends, not the shop. Send an opening and the same section builds to it, in either finish, wall or floor. Quoted inside twenty-four hours.

What every piece has in common

One section runs through the whole series: 1½ × 1½ × ⅛ inch hot-rolled steel angle. One leg stands off the wall, the other lies flat against it, and the glass rests down inside the L on the back leg. The room sees the ⅛ inch edge of the standing leg and the shadow behind it, and the frame stands 1½ inches proud of the wall. Corners are mitered at 45° on a fiber laser, welded by hand and ground flush, so no seam and no weld bead shows at the joint.

Finish is powder coat, matte black or warm white. Glass is cut to the frame opening less ¼ inch overall, ⅛ inch of clearance per side. The backing is yours to choose and it is what sets the shadow: every ⅛ inch of backing you leave out adds ⅛ inch of reveal around the glass. Full dimensions, tolerances and the reveal table are on the specification page.

Questions

How do I choose between the four sizes?
By the wall, not by the price. F.01 at 36 × 48 is the portrait rectangle that suits a console, a mantel or an entry. F.02 at 40 × 40 is square, which reads as art rather than as a mirror and holds a wall without dominating it. F.03 at 30 × 60 is the narrow-wall piece — beside a door, between two windows, the end of a hallway. F.04 at 24 × 72 is full length: six feet tall, narrow enough for a pier wall, and the one you see yourself head to foot in.
Why is the 40 × 40 square the cheapest piece?
Because price follows the length of steel around the perimeter, not the area of the opening. A 40 × 40 encloses more wall than a 36 × 48 but needs about 13 feet of angle against roughly 14, so it costs less to build. A square is the most efficient shape you can enclose with a given perimeter, which is why it is the least expensive piece in the series.
Do the prices include the mirror?
No. Every price in the series is frame only. A wall piece shipped out of the area arrives as the steel frame, and your glazier cuts and sets the glass to the drawing that ships with it. In Portland and Vancouver we supply and set the glass ourselves. A floor mirror ships complete anywhere, because it leans and nothing has to be hung.
What if none of the four sizes fits my wall?
The catalogue is where the four priced sizes end, not where the shop does. The same 1½ × 1½ × ⅛ inch section builds to any opening from 24 to 144 inches, in either finish, wall or floor. Send the opening and you get a number back inside twenty-four hours.
What does 'Signature' mean on these pieces?
Each one is mitered on a fiber laser, welded by hand, ground flush, then stamped and numbered on the back before it leaves the shop. That numbering is what makes it the Signature series rather than simply a frame at that size.
How long does an order take, and can I return it?
Two weeks to ship, counted from the day you approve the drawing — nothing is cut before approval. Orders are not returnable, because every piece is made to order and cut to a drawing you signed off on. Transit damage and any mismatch with the approved drawing are covered, freight both ways, reported within 48 hours with a photograph.
